The Arthur Dunn Cup
TheArthur Dunn Cup was constituted in 1902, making it one of the oldest trophies in world football. The Old Foresters have played in the competition since that inaugural year. The fixture is still the main focus of our season, and all players hope for a good run in the competition. Rather like the F A Cup, it has a magical quality that gives the words "playing in the Dunn" a totally different feeling to that engendered by any imminent league game. The trophy is unique in that not only does it have the winning team's name engraved on the trophy, but also the players' names - some famous, like C B Fry, and others erroneous, like P D Alexander with his legendary - and fictitious - middle initial !
